Writing a resume or cover letter often seems a very difficult task for people, and it can be if you don’t know the basic rules for an effective cover letter and resume.
First Step: Keep it to the point. Most managers or people that work in Human Resources do not have a lot of time to read through pages and pages of your resume.
Second Step: Do your homework on the company or organization that you want to work for, and make sure your cover letter and resume contains information that will make you a value employee. Show you care enough about the job, to take the time to do the research.
Third Step: Emphasize your strengths. This can be technical or leadership experience, or if you want to work in a multi- national company, it can be your language or communication skills.
Remember, an effective cover letter and resume are what gets your “foot in the door”, your ability to “sell” yourself will is critical in both the cover letter/resume and interviewing process. We will talk about the interviewing process in that blog. I have attached some templates here, these are also available on MS Word templates listing.
