Team A Summary:

  • Minimizes face to face interaction
  • Creates social isolation
  • Can affect your physical health
  • A large percentage of the internet is what is called Deep Net or Deep Web, criminal enterprises etc.
  • Though it can provide a lot of information, people look for instantaneous answers, not willing to work to learn something, the internet can make things to convenient

Team B Summary:

  • Two major facets: provides for opportunity and also provides visibility for causes and education
  • Ecommerce, Online shopping, opportunities for education, advertising, most important for 21st century
  • Pre-internet, was very shy, the internet provided an opportunity to meet other people, learn from a virtual school environment, more access to knowledge
  • Helps with correspondence, learn a lot of information
  • Creates jobs (programmers, IT etc.), Gap of knowledge between those that use the internet and not
  • Need education on how to use the internet responsibly, especially with young children
