Team A Summary:
- Minimizes face to face interaction
- Creates social isolation
- Can affect your physical health
- A large percentage of the internet is what is called Deep Net or Deep Web, criminal enterprises etc.
- Though it can provide a lot of information, people look for instantaneous answers, not willing to work to learn something, the internet can make things to convenient
Team B Summary:
- Two major facets: provides for opportunity and also provides visibility for causes and education
- Ecommerce, Online shopping, opportunities for education, advertising, most important for 21st century
- Pre-internet, was very shy, the internet provided an opportunity to meet other people, learn from a virtual school environment, more access to knowledge
- Helps with correspondence, learn a lot of information
- Creates jobs (programmers, IT etc.), Gap of knowledge between those that use the internet and not
- Need education on how to use the internet responsibly, especially with young children
