Street food near the Cathedral in Saigon – Banh Trang Nuong

February 23, 2015 Thanh Nguyen Tu

Street food is one necessary part you must not miss when you want to experience Saigonese life. So, in this blog, I will recommend this dish – BANH TRANG NUONG (mixed fried rice paper) which is cheap, approximate from 5,000-10,000vnd (~ half of a dollar), delicious and amazingly new to foreigners who have not tried before.

Ideal place to enjoy?

It is sold by friendly vendors in a small park opposite the Cathedral in the evening. It is no where greater than this since you can enjoy the nice view while tasting crispy and warm fried rice paper.

The ingredients include : rice paper, dried small shrimps, chili paste, quail/chicken egg, spring onions, cheese. Just listing the names already makes me feel hungry. ^_^

Not only the local people but the foreigners also enjoy it.
